Rand Preparatory is made up of Grades R to 7, under the leadership of Mrs Wendy Harris, and the headmistress Mrs Rita Pretorius, along with the Heads of Department - Mrs Christine Cumberland (Grades RR to 3) and Mrs Jeannette Oosterlaak (Grades 4 to 7). Boys and Girls enjoy access to well equipped classrooms, modern computer facilities, a well-stocked library and a variety of extra-mural activities. During break times, children can enjoy nutritious meals and snacks which are available from the school tuck-shop at reasonable prices.

Provision is made for the sporting and non-sporting child.

The school has a proud tradition of producing strong leaders. During the world summit on sustainable development, held in Johannesburg in 2002, no less than two of the 32 pupils representing South African school children at the summit, came from Rand Preparatory. No other school emulated this achievement!

A unique feature of the Preparatory school is the manner in which both Preparatory and College learners come together for certain functions and sporting activities. The older children learn how to be a "big brother or sister" to the smaller children while the smaller children look up to the older children as role models. Due to the expectation of exemplary behaviour and high moral standards required of our College learners, many of the Preparatory children strive to be like the College children. The College children will often mentor the Preparatory children, encouraging them and helping them whenever possible.

The school offers parents a one-stop schooling solution. Uniforms, Stationery, book and aftercare facilities are provided. Please look at the part of our web-site dealing with these issues for more information.
